Surface Aeration

Surface aeration is the most effective kind of aeration that is provided from the surface of the water. Surface aeration is recommended when aeration is your primary goal and the pond is less than seven feet deep on average. Typically a pump is suspended from a float. A propeller forces high volumes of water into the air, mixing oxygen into the water as it falls back into the pond.

Kasco surface pond aerators work great for backyard ponds, lakes, sewer ponds, etc, as these aerators are independently tested to provide the highest rates of oxygen transfer. Known for being the most energy-efficient solution, surface aerators dramatically agitate high volumes of water at the top of the water, maximizing exposure for valuable gas exchange. These are your best bet when aeration is your chief concern. There is no nozzle to restrict flow! (There is also no decorative fountain pattern.)
