Surface Aeration

Surface aeration is the most effective kind of aeration that is provided from the surface of the water. Surface aeration is recommended when aeration is your primary goal and the pond is less than seven feet deep on average. Typically a pump is suspended from a float. A propeller forces high volumes of water into the air, mixing oxygen into the water as it falls back into the pond.

Known for being the most energy-efficient solution, surface aerators dramatically agitate high volumes of water at the top of the water, maximizing exposure for valuable gas exchange.
